Gentlemen's Vintage Clothing Show Hits Manhattan

NEW YORK, NY - New York City's first men's vintage clothing show and sale puts the man back in Manhattan. On November 4th and 5th, men (and women) will shop the collections from twenty of the nation's top men's vintage clothing dealers.

You heard it right! Guys are about to have their very own vintage fashion event. For the first time ever, twenty of the nation's premier men's vintage clothing dealers will gather their goods and converge on the Prince George Ballroom in NYC for a fashion event that is dedicated to you.

For two days - Nov. 4 & 5 -- come and shop the collections of the industry's greatest vintage fashion resources in one convenient location. Discover what women have known for years - that vintage is the smartest way to express your own sense of style and have great designer looks for less.

Men's vintage clothing is a market that has often been over-looked because of its hard-to-find nature. Not any more! These original items routinely copied and used for inspiration by the world's top designers, will now be easily accessible to everyone.

What's in store? Everything from rare vintage denim work-wear, to the beautifully tailored suits of the 1940's as well as fun-loving collectible Hawaiian shirts from the 1950's. Every decade is covered! You'll find vintage suits, shirts, jackets, shoes, watches, ties, cuff links, and more. What a bonanza! This is two day's of shopping like you've never seen before.

Designer wear from American, Japanese and European resources is well represented as is every look imaginable: exciting Rock-a-Billy, Motorcycle, Western, Military, Athletic, Surf and Swim wear, Ivy League, Disco, Hippie and Carnaby Street. . Fine fabrics like cotton, wool, vicuna and of course cashmere, are featured. This will be the most outstanding collection of men's vintage clothing ever gathered.

The Gentlemen's Vintage Show is being produced by the same team that has made the Manhattan Vintage Clothing Show New York City's most popular vintage fashion event. They have brought together some of the finest vintage resources in the country for the Gentleman's Vintage Clothing Show.

Heller's Caf� Inc. will offer a variety of items from the late 1800s-1940s with an emphasis on denim and work wear. Throughout the years, Heller ha seen collectible garments pass through their hands, including the oldest pair of brown duck Levi's and the oldest pair of Levi's 501's (Now in the Levi Strauss archive collection in San Francisco). Owner, Larry McKaughan, will debut his newly released book, "King of Vintage No 2." at the show - a fabulous look at Larry's renowned collection.

The Way We Wore is an excellent resource for classic American vintage. Here you will find those wonderful Hawaiian shirts from the 40's and 50's beautifully tailored suits from the 40's to the 60's, interesting work-wear, outerwear and California casual leisure wear. Want to customize your look? The Way We Wore offers design and creative services and has an extensive selection of swatches-- woven and print that are ideal for men's fashion design.

Want something truly unique? Head to Cherry Vintage of NYC, who will be bringing a special collection of vintage Japanese designer wear (kansai, yohji, issey, and comme des garcons). Cherry is also known for vintage 60's and 70's surf wear and rock n roll stage wear, turn of the century finer wear, plus street wear from the 50's thru the 80's.

Strongarm C&S Co., also based in NYC, has been selling men's vintage utility wear for over 15 years. Their focus is men's work, military, athletic and outdoor wear from the 1890s to 1950s, along with a selection of dress clothing from the same periods.

The show will also feature exhibitors Bobby From Boston, Snappy Gabs, Amarcord Vintage Fashions, David Owens Vintage, Daybreak Vintage, Antique Textile Resource, The Archives, Jae Jarrell Gent's Vintage, Metropolis, ConRags, Lisa Victoria, Ronniescot, Matinee Idol, Peter Schubert and a rare collection discovered by Lawrence Diamond.

The Gentlemen's Vintage Show will be located at the Prince George Ballroom (15 East 27th Street, NYC), a landmark building in Manhattan's Madison Square North historic area, November 4 & 5, 2011.

Show hours are Friday, November 4, 1pm to 8pm and Saturday, November 5, 11am to 6pm. Admission will be $10.
