Top Fall Fashion Trends

Just because we don't get the four seasons here doesn't mean we can't change up our looks like we do. Here are some of the newest trends for Fall 2011. Add one or more of them to your wardrobe for an updated look.

Pops of color

Adding unexpected pops of color in an otherwise neutral outfit is a way to embrace the color trend without looking too outlandish. Create a bold statement with colorful ties, belts, socks or shoes.

Chocolate Brown

Yes, brown is a very obvious fall color, since it's the color that leaves get this season (well, in most places other than Florida), but a warm chocolate brown is universally flattering and modern.

Horizontal Stripes

People fear horizontal stripes-they worry they will make them look wider. It all really depends on the size of the stripes. Thinner spaced stripes = a thinner looking you. Plus, there's nothing wrong with broader looking shoulders or pecs. Stripes have a preppy and fresh appeal.

Corduroy

Corduroys might be a bit hard to pull off in South Florida, but give it a month or two and the weather will cool down and you won't regret wearing plush corduroy pants. They're a fresh alternative to khakis.

Cardigans

The cardigan trend continues from last year. Not just for Mr. Rogers anymore, adding a cardigan to your look is a surefire way to add some interest to an outfit.

Accessories

Wingtips with a heavier sole

When you think of wingtips, you probably think of the word 'conservative." These new ones for fall have an edge to them with a heavier, thicker sole.

Thin belts

A skinny belt adds a modern touch to your fall outfits. Don't feel pressured to match it to your shoes. It looks fresher not to.

Jumbo Watches

Large-faced watches are very cool this season. Not just for the far-sighted, these giant watches are very masculine and make a statement.

Oversized, retro sunglasses

Giant sunglasses are a great way to hide from the paparazzi - and they also look fabulous. Embrace this trend and you will also be protecting the delicate skin around your eyes. Wrinkle-free is always in style.
