'Outer Banks' Hottie Drew Starkey on Getting to Know Daniel Craig 'Really, Really' Quickly for 'Queer'

If you've seen Netflix's binge hit 'Outerbacks' then you already know Drew Starkey is a star. But if you are like Daniel Craig and director "Call Me By Your Name" director Luca Guadagnino, then you might just fancy Starkey because he seems like a good guy.

In an interview with GQ, Starkey opened up about his upcoming project 'Queer,' directed by Guadagnino and how the director and Craig had no idea who he was.

But then, according to Starkey, he got to know Craig "really, really" quickly during movement rehearsal for the film, and Guadagnino ate it up.

"The process of collaborating with someone like Luca is incredibly freeing and funny and absurd," he said. "I trusted him completely. I trusted his viewpoint. I would do anything he would say."

According to the film's synopsis, an adaptation of William S. Burroughs's post-World War II novella, two American G.I. expats in 1940s Mexico City find themselves in Mexico City, with one looking for heroin and another a connection. An entanglement ensues, and then well, since it is a Luca Guadagnino film, you can imagine their might be some fruit sexualization involved.

According to Starkey, the whole filming process was a dream.

"It's always a shock and surprise to me that someone's like, 'Oh, that's right. That's what we want.' I'm like, really?" he said.
