NYPD Names Suspect in Chelsea BBQ Restaurant Gay Bash

The New York City Police Department has identified the man believed to have bashed a gay couple with a chair at Dallas BBQ in Chelsea earlier this month. DNA info reports.

Police have named Bayna El-Amin, 41, as the person in the viral video beating Jonathan Snipes, 32, and Ethan York-Adams, 25, over the head with a chair on May 5.

The beating came after El-Amin allegedly shouted several anti-gay slurs at the men.

According to the NYPD, El-Amin has an extensive criminal record with 18 prior arrests for assault, shoplifting, drug possession, credit card fraud, forgery and possession of stolen property. His 22-year arrest record spans six states.

"He is a career criminal," NYPD Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce told the New York Daily News. "We believe he has fled the state."

Police are looking for help tracking him down.
