Rainbow Fashion Week Hosts Urban Knights
Winnie McCroy READ TIME: 2 MIN.
On June 26, Rude T.ee V.ee Productions invites all women to Urban K'Nights, a pre-Pride event with Rainbow Fashion Week. The star-studded cocktail party, sponsored by Clique Vodka, will give viewers a sneak peak of what's in store in the world of fashion, and will help others understand the importance of individuality.
"This is a special night designed to feature the upcoming urban designers inspired by goth, punk, cross and skull bones with preppy-styled crested attire all under one roof," said DaRuddest Jones. "This will be focused on the new designers who are without competitive platforms to present their artistry."
The event, executive produced by E. Jaguar Beckford, will feature inter-seasonal collections between the traditional autumn/winter and spring/summer collections. Designers featured include Bradley Douglas Jordan, Fashion Victimz, Intimate I-Candi, Stoi AlterEgo and more.
"So for example, Karl Lagerfeld has shown his Resort and Pre-Fall collections for Chanel in cities such as Moscow, Los Angeles and Monte Carlo instead of Paris," organizers write. "We elected to brand another 'un-official time' because designers can put on presentations as opposed to traditional shows during Resort and Pre-Fall either to cut down their costs or because the clothes can be better understood in this type of medium."
Performers for the evening include SitcomLife Brown, The Silent Celeb, Nicky T, Madam Ambition, Young Tef, Set Heru, Nossis and Superlative Saint. The event will be hosted by Mojo Disco and Lucyy Flawless.
In addition to a premiere upscale fashion extravaganza, organizers will bring awareness to several social issues such as health, bullying and marriage equality. Each producer will identify a few of these causes and bring their message to their market. They will also deliver a specialized Social Responsibility T-shirt and donate fifty percent of the proceeds from the sales to those and other causes.
"We will afford you an intimate space to converse, network and possibly purchase from a collection before its availability to the general public," said Jones. "While taking in fashionable eye candy, we will feed your soul with live performances by amazing artists, gift bags, tantalizing drinks and a friendly and quaint atmosphere!"
Urban K'Nights will be held at 7 p.m. on June 26 at The All White Space, 587 Tenth Avenue in Times Square West. Cover is $15.20. For information or tickets, visit https://www.eventbrite.com/e/rainbow-fashion-week-urban-knights-tickets-11311638415 or www.rainbowfashionweek.com
