A massive, illuminated Gay Pride flag consisting of 480 LED light bulbs, the world's largest rainbow flag, is currently adorning the Tel Aviv Municipality Building in Rabin Square in celebration of the city's 21st annual Pride Week taking place this week through June 13.
Approximately 130,000 Israelis and travelers are expected to arrive in Tel Aviv for Gay Pride Week, which features an exciting lineup of beach parties, music performances and outdoor happenings leading up to the annual Pride Parade (June 13). Tel Aviv has been consistently listed among the world's "Best Gay Cities" by GayCities and ranked by Business Insider as the #2 "Best Gay Honeymoon Destination" in the world in 2013.
"We are thrilled to see Tel Aviv emerge on the international stage as one of the world's most liberal and open-minded travel destinations," said Haim Gutin, Israel Commissioner for Tourism, North and South America, "which is supported by the steady increase in tourist arrivals each year during Tel Aviv Pride Week."
