Youngest Female Tony Award Winner, Daisy Eagan
EDGE READ TIME: 2 MIN.
Society Cabaret is thrilled to welcome actress and singer Daisy Eagan. The youngest female Tony Award Winner premieres her new one woman show, "One For My Baby," (self written with direction by Drew Droege and musical direction by Brandon James Gwinn) on Friday and Saturday, March 28 and 29, Society Cabaret at Hotel Rex (562 Sutter Street), San Francisco.
Daisy is the youngest actress ever to win a Tony Award for her performance as Mary Lennox in "The Secret Garden" (Drama Desk and Outer Critic Circle Award nominations). Most recently she was seen on stage in NYC and on the first national tour of "Love, Loss, And What I Wore" and as Snooki in "Jersey Shoresical: A Frickin' Rock Opera!" Some of her other theater credits include "Les Miserables" (Broadway), "James Joyce's The Dead" (Original Broadway production), "Be Aggressive" (world premiere at La Jolla Playhouse, Garland Award honorable mention, and regionally at TheaterWorks), "On the Mountain" (world premiere at South Coast Reparatory), "A View from the Bridge" (South Coast Reparatory), "The Wild Party" (The Blank Theater Company. 2005 LA Weekly Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Musical).
Her TV and film credits include "The Mentalist," "Without a Trace," "Ghost Whisperer," "Numb3rs" and "The Unit," "Losing Isaiah" (Paramount), "Ripe" (Trimark), and "Tony n' Tina's Wedding" (Green Street Films). Daisy co-created, co-wrote and starred in "Krystal Park," a soap opera set in a trailer park, pieces of which can be found on YouTube.
No longer the little girl that captured the hearts of Broadway audiences, Daisy is back on stage as an opinionated woman, mother and performer using her experiences as her script to engage audiences with "One for My Baby."
Daisy's new one-woman show is part monologue, part cabaret with jazz and pop standards detailing her life from pregnancy to motherhood. Daisy uses her comedic tone from her popular blogs to present an evening of comedy and song to tell her story. "One for My Baby" is produced by Sa Sa Productions in Los Angeles (www.sasaproductions.com).
