"Guide for the Modern Bear"

Mark Thompson READ TIME: 1 MIN.

"Guide for the Modern Bear" is a fun, wholesome, and hip travel guide focused on the bear lifestyle and modernist community in fourteen cities across the USA and Europe.

The book was inspired by the grassroots growth of the popular Facebook page; the authors' ambition was to create a new style and aesthetic for gay lifestyles, gay consumers, and gay acceptance in the larger culture of America.

The self-published, first edition sold 1,000 copies in just a few months and led to a publishing deal with Pixelita Press, distributed nationwide by Ingram Publishing.

The authors spiffed up the guidebook for the first national release by polishing and perfecting the existing 12 chapters; adding two more characters and cities; adding beautifully designed, functional maps; and creating a tasteful advertising space in the back.

"Guide for the Modern Bear" will be a Pixelita Press Feature on www.Amazon.com starting November 4th, 2012 and available as a download for media readers as well.

Bear World Magazine is devoting a cover story to Modern Bear and "Guide for the Modern Bear" in their November 15th issue, endorsing it as their #1 Pick for their Holiday Gift Guide.

The first national edition is priced at $19.99 to encourage gift sales this holiday season.
