Northampton Pride: Rainbow flags a-flying!

orthampton celebrated the 30th annual Noho Pride event on Saturday, May 7 with a parade and entertainment in the center of the Western Massachusetts town.

Floats galore -- along with Dykes on Bykes and local Gay-Straight Alliance groups -- marched down Main Street in Saturday's beautiful weather to the cheers of crowds lining the street.

Grand marshals included comedian Kate Clinton, activist and author Robyn Ochs, and executive director of the Massachusetts Transgender Political Coalition (MTPC) Gunner Scott.

Following the parade, entertainment held in the parking lot behind Thorne's Marketplace included performances from the Pioneer Valley Gay Men's Chorus, God-Des & She, and the Diva Dolls. Openly lesbian mayor of Northampton Clare Higgins gave a special proclamation to kick off the festivities.
