New York Yankees 2009: Season Of Pride, Tradition, & Glory

Jim Halterman READ TIME: 1 MIN.

The 2009 season of the New York Yankees was like something out of a movie. While the team looked strong from the start, moving into the new stadium (which is spectacular if you haven't been) could have ended up being a tough adjustment for the team, led for the second year by Joe Girardi.

Instead, as evident by the DVD release of New York Yankees 2009: A Season of Pride, Tradition and Glory, this past season was one of the team's strongest, with the best record in major league baseball (103-59), 51 come-from-behind wins, 28 last-at-bat wins, and 15 walkoff wins. All that and more led to the team's 27th championship.

The DVD is a great addition for any baseball fan, but a must for any Yankee fan. Almost lovingly, the DVD tells the story from spring break to tickertape parade celebrating the World Series win.

However, it's not just the retelling of the games in this DVD, but also interviews with team players and coaching staff to give an excellent behind the scenes look at what went into the winning season.

There are bonus features galore that will add to the Yankee experience including a tour of the new stadium, a list of milestones achieved throughout the season and a breakdown of other key moments that led to the championship.

This DVD is part of the award-winning Yankeeography series on the YES network and deserves a spot on any baseball fan's shelf.
