Netflix Renews Reality Shows 'The Circle' & 'Love is Blind' Two Seasons Each

Wednesday March 25, 2020

Because it feels like we'll never interact with other humans again, Netflix has wisely renewed its popular reality shows "The Circle" and "Love is Blind" for two more seasons each, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

"The Circle" is a strategy competition similar to "Big Brother" where people are isolated in apartments and interact with each other only via social media and can pose as other people. "Love is Blind" starts similarly but is closer to "The Bachelor," where a group of singles talks to each other in "pods." They cannot see each other and only converse. They quickly become engaged, then meet in person before entering the next phase of the show. Both series have been picked up for seasons two and three.

"It's been incredible to see Netflix members everywhere respond to the raw, authentic stories of real people and real stakes," Brandon Riegg, Vice President of nonfiction and comedy specials at Netflix, told THR. "We pride ourselves on creating a favorite show for any taste, and we're thrilled fans embraced all of these series with such enthusiasm and shared passion. We look forward to sparking more joy for our members."

The new seasons of "The Circle" and "Love is Blind" won't arrive on Netflix until 2021, however. Production on the shows hasn't started due to nearly all of Hollywood being shut down over the new coronavirus outbreak.
