Tyra Banks Enlists 'Drag Race' Stars for Upcoming 'America's Next Top Model' Cycle

Friday Dec 8, 2017

You better work - literally.

For the upcoming Cycle 24 of "America's Next Top Model," Tyra Banks, who is returning as host after handing the reigns over to pop star Rita Ora for a season, is enlisting the help of some "RuPaul's Drag Race" heavy hitters.

The new season of the hit reality show will debut on Jan. 9 on VH1 and, for the first time, have no age limit on contestants.

Banks called upon the talents of the "Drag Race" stars for an upcoming challenge - specifically Katya, Valentina and Manila Luzon. During a photoshoot with the queens, Banks commented on their fierceness.

"They're so friggin' gorgeous and can pose their asses off," Banks told Entertainment Weekly. "That's a difficult model to be in a shot with.... Not all of my models prevailed. Valentina killed it. I'm sitting there editing film and I'm like, can I get a shot of my girls looking at least half as good as Valentina?"

She also explained how she thought about bringing drag queens on the show for challenges.

"Something popped into my head: princesses and queens! I told my team, 'Okay, give me a photoshoot with that theme, but with our girls and the drag queens!' They took it from there and did a really good job," Banks told EW.

This isn't the first time Banks has interacted with "Drag Race" stars. Raja, who went on to win Season 3, was once Banks' makeup artist. During the infamous Snatch Game challenge, where queens impersonate celebs, Raja played Banks.
